Gymkana's mission is to inspire drug-free and healthy lifestyles through positive example. With children as the primary audience, the members of the Gymkana Troupe demonstrate their commitment to making healthy choices through impressive gymnastic performances and mentorship in Gymkana's gymnastics classes and summer camp. The Gymkana Troupe performs both men's and women's gymnastics apparatus routines, as well as novelty circus acts that incorporate the use of chairs, ladders and trampolines. Their performances showcase high-flying acrobatics and promote a message of healthy, drug-free living.

Chauncey Whitehead's focus has been on the health of the people within the Baltimore community. He has worked at the YMCA of Central Maryland as a fitness coordinator developing and implementing fitness programs for the members. Chauncey is committed to providing opportunity for low-income families to participate in health and fitness programs and has raised money for scholarships to ensure their participation. He has participated in The Tavis Smiley Group Presents the Road to Health Tour.
At age 76, Ernestine Shepherd is in better shape than most people, decades her junior. Recognized by the Guinness World Book of Records, Ernestine is the oldest competitive female bodybuilder. At age 55, she decided to leave the life of a couch potato and begin a journey to be more healthy through bodybuilding. Inspired by Sylvester Stallone she is a die-hard “Rocky” fan. Feeling better than she did at 40,”Bodybuilding champion Ernestine Shepherd shows us that ”being out of shape” as we age truly is merely an option — NOT a mandate! She is a role model not just for senior women everywhere, but for every one of us.
Former Harlem Globetrotter, Charles “Choo” Smith now scores with helping youth be more healthy!
He founded Choo Smith Youth Empowerment, a non-profit organization that focuses on his “4L” philosophy (Love it, Learn it, Live it, Lead it) and Choo Smith Enterprise a for-profit corporation. From these organizations the Choo Smith Summer Basketball Camp was born.

Kangaroo Kids is a precision jump rope team from Howard County, Maryland. Their rope jumping is choreographed to music and provides wholesome family entertainment for all ages. This unique combination of exercise and dance is enjoyable to perform and exciting to watch. Our shows include group routines, individual freestyle, long rope, stunts and double dutch jump rope. Kangaroo Kids is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote physical fitness and goodwill by example and by demonstration of our jump rope skills. As fitness ambassadors, Kangaroo Kids performs numerous Jump Rope fitness shows and conducts demonstrations, workshops, and competitions each year to spread the benefits of this form of physical fitness around the world.
Keion Carpenter, Former NFL Atlanta Falcon

Shutdown Academy , development program for boys and girls designed to empower them to reach their fullest potential through the core values of integrity, honor and respect through the sport of football.
Shutdown Academy creates a rich, dynamic learning environment with unique educational opportunities for our students. Our comprehensive program goes beyond the traditional classroom to cultivate essential life skills such as responsibility, self-discipline, and resilience. Through classroom instruction, athletic training, and mentoring, our goal is to position students to be confident, successful advocates who will make positive contributions to our world.
CJay is the Artistic Director of Baltimore's dynamic contemporary dance company bringing exciting new works to the stage and hope to Baltimore City families through her family fitness program the Dance & Bmore Family Jam. CJay began her professional career as a dancer in both modern and African dance companies. She was also a popular dance fitness instructor at some of New York's premiere health clubs. She moved on to have a successful Broadway and touring career in shows like Dreamgirls (Tour), Big the Musical (Broadway) Street Corner Symphony (Broadway) Legally Blonde (Tour) and Hairspray (Broadway) where she was Dance Captain for the both touring and Broadway companies. CJay has choreographed hundreds of live and televised events around the world.

With over 20 years cooking experience, Chef Ryan has absorbed the flavors and traditions of a variety of regional cuisines. He had selects fresh ingredients and keeps his recipes simple for that the fresh foods can be appreciated and savored.

Ramsey Green has been demonstrating nutritious cooking techniques as the Chef for the Maryland Physicians Care Healthy Groove program for more than four years. Born and raised in Baltimore City, Chef Green has more than 12 years of experience as a chef at family-friendly. Most recently Chef Green lost 50 pounds, an accomplishment which he credits to eating his favorite Healthy Groove recipes.

Our mission at the Simple Cooking with Heart Kitchen is to teach our Baltimore neighbors how to prepare simple, delicious and inexpensive meals at home so they can enjoy the benefi¬ts of eating healthier and feel more confident cooking for their families.
Chef Berry was a regular on FOX 45’ Morning News Show where she performed cooking demonstrations.
